Custom printed crash lock boxes
A crash lock (auto-bottom) carton has a pre-glued base that locks into place the moment the box is opened. It's quicker to pack than a tuck end box and much stronger underneath – the right choice for heavier products like jars, bottles, mugs, candles and gift sets.
We print and glue every crash lock box in Dublin on premium Proxima folding boxboard. Order from just 10 for samples and launches, right up to 10,000 online – larger quantities on quote.
Choosing your size
Prices are based on the flat size of your carton – the size of the printed blank before it is folded and glued. Not sure what that is? Choose the closest option or send us your product dimensions and we'll work it out for you.
- Up to A5 (210 × 148mm flat) – small cosmetics, candles, supplements, samples
- Up to A4 (297 × 210mm flat) – jars, bottles, medium retail products
- Up to A3 (420 × 297mm flat) – larger products and gift sets
- Up to SRA3 (450 × 320mm flat) – the largest size on our short-run press
- Long – up to 700 × 320mm flat – tall or long cartons and sleeves

How it works
- Choose your size and quantity and place your order or request a quote.
- We send you a flat cutter template (dieline) for your artwork – or our design team can lay it out for you.
- We check your artwork and send a proof for approval.
- Your cartons are printed, cut, glued and delivered.
Short runs are printed digitally and cut without a cutting forme, which keeps small orders affordable. Larger runs are printed litho on our Heidelberg press and die-cut on our BOBST for the best price per box.

Why choose a crash lock base?
The base is glued at the factory, so it forms itself as you open the box – no tucking. It supports more weight and saves time when you're packing hundreds of products.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes – we can make a plain or printed sample so you can check the fit before the full run.
